The Canale delle Moline runs under the street. It was covered over in 1954. We are not going to sell you a view of it, and everything else on this site is written the same way.

Every hotel site says the rooms are all lovely. In a 1631 house they are not interchangeable, and the differences are measurable, so here they are measured. Pick the two things you actually care about and the building will tell you which room you are getting.

Each plan on this site is drawn from that room's own width and depth in metres, inside the same six-metre frame, on a one-metre grid. Nothing is stretched to fill its box. When you put two rooms side by side on the rooms page, the bigger rectangle is the bigger room — which sounds obvious until you look at how hotel photography usually works.
The red segment is the window and it sits on the wall it actually sits on, so the orientation is readable and the sun chart follows from it. The grey rectangle is the bed at its real mattress width. The shaded box is the bathroom, and its area is included in the square metres we quote — 28.3 m² for 101 means the whole room, not the room plus a bathroom we forgot to mention.
Italian law makes rate-parity clauses void. A hotel here is legally free to charge you less on its own site than a booking platform does — most simply choose not to.
So we do. Every rate on this site is 12% under the rack rate the platforms show, we still keep more than the 83% a platform would leave us, and there is no membership, no code and no account to make.
Against €83.00 through a platform. You pay €12 less and we keep €3.77 more. There is no version of this where the platform was the good deal for either of us.

The door is inside Bologna's limited traffic zone. Cameras, not barriers — you will not be stopped, you will be fined about EUR 85 some weeks later. Send us your plate and your arrival date at least 24 hours ahead and we register it with the Comune. We have never had a guest fined when they told us in time and we cannot do anything at all once you have driven through.
